Autumn is coming!

It’s been a busy summer in the orchard, with our main work being to get the grass mowed, raked and tidied, and weeding around the trees. After some very dry weeks many of the  saplings were looking stressed, and we have applied for funding to try and establish a water supply to the site. This is only one of the funding applications we have made recently – do please step up if you’d like to help with this important aspect of our work. We really need to improve the fencing and to make the site properly accessible and safe, as well as building up our funds for the next round of planting.

We have established a regular routine of work days – first Saturday of each month – which makes work in the orchard sociable and means we can tackle big jobs with many hands making light work. But there is always something to be done! If you feel you’d like to spend a few hours in the orchard and aren’t sure what needs doing, just contact Daverick at no. 2 or use our email address below. Weeding around the trees is always helpful.
